TrekDesk Giveaway: Want to Win a TrekDesk?

So if you’ve followed me on Twitter much, you know I’ve had a TrekDesk for about a year. The main reason behind having a TrekDesk in my office is a bad back. I had surgery a year or so ago and sitting down for long periods of time is hard on my back. In addition, I’d read a number of articles on treadmill desks, including this very recent one.

The benefits to owning a TrekDesk are many. I’ve personally felt more energy, a higher level of focus and less sleepiness in the afternoons. While my poor eating habits haven’t helped much, the TrekDesk has been a nice calorie burner, too. My problem is I’m not at my desk a lot, so therefore, I’m not on the TrekDesk as much. I actually crave being on it and often look forward to periods of uninterrupted work where I can really get some miles in. I can honestly say that I am not sick of it at all – that after nearly a year of use, I love it as much as the first week I owned it. This isn’t a fad for me – it’ll be something I use for a long, long time.

Now to the fun part.

My friends at TrekDesk have given me one of their desks to giveaway to you! This is a $500 item – and you get to win one absolutely free!

This contest will be for the month of February and officially starts TOMORROW (February 1, 2012). It will end on February 29, 2012 at 12:00 midnight (MST). The rules of the contest are very simple. Every time you do one of the following actions, you get an entry into the drawing:

1 – Like TrekDesk on Facebook here. (good for one entry)

2 – Follow TrekDesk on Twitter here. (good for one entry)

3 – Share the TrekDesk Facebook page on your own page. (good for one entry EACH TIME you share the page)

4 – Retweet @TrekDesk or @ mention TrekDesk via your Twitter account. (good for one entry EACH TIME you retweet or @ mention)

5 – Share this blog post with others (good for one entry EACH TIME you share the blog post)

Items 1 and 2 are good for a single entry. Items 3, 4 and 5 you can do as many times as you’d like to during the month of February. The more times you do 3, 4 and 5, the more entries you get. At the first of March 2012, we will compile all of these likes, shares, retweets and mentions and put entries in a large drawing box. I’ll do a LIVE video feed that day and we will pick a name and award the TrekDesk to the winner! Please note that this is for the TrekDesk only. There are no strings attached, we will ship the new TrekDesk to the winner. However, the prize does not include a Treadmill. You’ll need to get that on your own.

So – get sharing, liking and mentioning so you can increase your chance of winning each and every time. Good luck! The winner will truly have a life changing prize.

PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to post on here about the entries you are making. No need to comment below that you have liked the page, or shared the tweet. We are tracking all of that.

UPDATE: Click on this link to see the video drawing of our winner!!

Is it hard to walk and type at the same time?

    • alex_lawrence

Not at all. You are only going 1-1.5mph, which is super slow.  I can type 100% normally when on it.

Glad to hear Alex that walking has proved helpful to you.  As a worksite wellness specialist, it is always good to hear of success stories like yours, as we have known that walking is probably the best thing you can do for your health.  What pains me though is that the walking is at your desk while you are working.  Is what you do so critical and important that you can’t take 10-15 minute walking breaks in the morning or afternoon and a walk at lunch???

I have become very interested in and concerned about entrepreneur and start-up owner health after recently reading several pieces about what entrepreneurs and start-up owners go through.  Does it really have to be this way?  As a specialist in entrepreneurship and start-ups, here is a question for you:  Do entrepreneurs and start-up owners really need to sacrifice their health in order to make their business a success?  Seems to me there has got to be a better way!

Also shrewd marketing by TrekDesk regarding the contest.  Given the contest requirements, my guess is that they will receive many times over in free advertising what the TrekDesk cost them to manufacture.  A great marketing lesson here for all small business owners don’t you think?
