Some Of My Favorite Online Resources

If you are like me, you spend a lot of time reading. I really enjoy books but if I had to choose I’d go with my blog feed and Twitter lists any day. There are some stellar thinkers online that share their very best work. They do so frequently and for free! I love how current their tweets and posts are. Often times they are comments that are up to the minute in relevance. In the world of business things move lightning fast so getting quality content and commentary that is also timely is particularly useful.

I am certain there are a number of great sites and Twitter accounts missing below. These are just a few of my favorites (please note that they are in no particular order). Tell me in the comments what I missed so I can add where necessary. In the meantime, enjoy!

Tom Eisenmann is a professor at Harvard. He has taken the time and effort to create a list of fantastic resources for entrepreneurs. You can follow him on Twitter @TEisenmann or go straight to his list HERE.

Steve Blank is quickly becoming one of my very favorite writers/speakers on entrepreneurship. Everything he writes seems like it is a “must read”. His blog has a list of all kinds of wonderful tools for start-ups and such. His Twitter account is a must follow @SgBlank too. Check out the list of tools though HERE.

James Altucher is one of the most entertaining reads available. I read all of his posts. Some of it is really odd but there are always some real gems in there. Get a good laugh and even better advice from James HERE.

VatorNews has a great page with videos for entrepreneurs to watch about 10 lessons for 2011. I go there often to review and refresh some ideas that never get old. Check out the videos HERE.

@MSuster – Mark is one of my favorite bloggers ever. His Twitter feed is just as good. He is pretty accessible too. All of his blog posts are also a “must read”.

@Bryce – the epitome of super smart, approachable and humble. What a great combo for entrepreneurial advice and commentary.

Fred Wilson is known by most of you already I’m sure. As the author of one of the most popular VC blogs (if not THE most popular) in the World, Fred is deservedly well respected. One of the most interesting things though about his blog are not necessarily the posts, but the comments that happen below each post. Some of the best things I’ve learned have some in the comments. Check out Fred’s blog and read the comments HERE.

@CDixon – Chris is one of my favorite people to follow on Twitter. He tweets a lot, he replies once in awhile, he is a curator of great content and he really, really has some great thoughts and insights. I read all of his tweets and often click on articles he recommends.

@AndrewChen – this is a relatively new Twitter follow for me. He tweets great links to articles I have found very useful and often unique. Quality content curator.

@hnshah – Hiten is 100% entreprenuer, always on, all the time. I love his energy. He has and is building some cool companies so his tweets come from “the trenches”.

@mark_solon – I know, I’m biased. Mark and his partners led a $6M Series A round in Lendio but that has nothing to do with why he is on this list. Mark is someone I look up to as a fellow human being. He does good things for others and he genuinely cares about people and this planet. I wish he blogged and tweeted more. Send him an @ reply after reading this and ask him to!

@GigaOm – Om Malik is a smart dude. He knows a lot about a lot. His network of blogs, videos and other media about all things technology are always insightful and useful. I love his Twitter feed though; a nice combination of technology updates and information mixed with his real personality and real life.

Ben Horowitz is a name that some of you might not know. He was the CEO and co-founder of OpsWare. Why is that significant? Because they sold OpsWare to HP for $1.7B IN CASH. That isn’t why I follow his blog though. I follow his blog because his posts are golden. Some serious experience and honesty here. Read all of his posts HERE and thank me later.

Who did I miss? I’ll periodically add the best of the best here and send an update via my Twitter account HERE.
